The Chamber Orchestra was the stand-out, winning a gold medal. They received 95 points which the adjudicators commented was the highest mark ever given at a KBB competition. This group also won a Most Outstanding Performance award. Special congratulations to the girls in the Chamber Orchestra. Their performance at the Grand Finale Concert was outstanding!
The Symphony Orchestra won silver and were only a single point behind a gold award.
The Concert Band achieved silver, Big Band achieved silver, and ConcorDio Intermediate Strings won a bronze medal. This Junior Group received full marks for their presentation. The Wind Band received a highly commended award.
Congratulations to Shelagh Thomson and to all the students and tutors from Dio and Dilworth who competed in KBB. Each year we get spectacular results at the KBB and this is all about the excellence and commitment that our young people continue to make to practices and trainings.
This week our choral champions the St Cecilia Singers head off to the Big Sing National Finals to be held in Wellington. We are delighted with the standard of performing arts at Diocesan and know that every student who makes a commitment learns so many life skills that will support their future careers.
