This annual exhibition showcases a selection of NCEA Level 3 portfolios that attained Excellence in Visual Art from the previous year, offering students and teachers the chance to view a range of Excellence portfolios across all the visual arts fields.
Additionally, Mina was awarded a Scholarship in Painting, a fantastic achievement for her and a reflection of her dedication and talent. We are looking forward to viewing Mina’s portfolio when the exhibition visits Dilworth later this year.

Tracking the Land
My theme of ‘Tracks in the land’ is showcased through my works with the metaphorical idea of ‘tracking the land’, watching the landscape morph and change throughout time and the physical idea of ‘tracks in the land’ as we see the physical impressions left from the impact of man. I chose the setting of my family’s redwood forest , as it displays the change from untouched land to the new redwood forest. Another key idea throughout my works was the sublime experience and feeling of reverence, in the first artwork the beauty of the landscape is shown through the untouched aura. This juxtaposes the final artwork with the redwood trees, the feeling of beauty and reverence is still there, but in a different light’
