New Zealand Secondary Schools Athletics Success To End The Year
The NZSSAA Track and Field Championships in Timaru marked the perfect end to an incredible year for Dio Athletics. Our athletes delivered exceptional performances, proving once again that Dio is a force to be reckoned with.

Highlights included:

  • Indie Williams kicking things off with a GOLD in the Junior Girls 3000m on the first day.
  • Middle-distance stars Hannah McManus, Sophia Haines, and Luisa Haines began their 800m event with strong heats.
  • Sophia and Hannah qualified for the 800m finals, while Indie booked her spot in the 1500m final.
  • Maddie Worrall struck GOLD in the Junior Girls Road Race.
  • Luisa Haines and Maggie Croft placed 6th and 13th in the Year 9 Road Race.
  • Jacqui Nasrabadi secured SILVER in Senior Girls Long Jump and placed 6th in the 100m final—a phenomenal double effort.
  • The Junior Girls 4x400m relay team of Luisa, Maggie, Maddie, and Hannah delivered a stunning GOLD medal performance. The Year 9’s stepped up to start, Maddie bought them through into 3rd place and Hannah sealed the victory in the final leg.

Special Congratulations

A shoutout to Jacqui Nasrabadi, who has been named in the NZ Secondary Schools Championships Team. An incredible achievement that highlights her hard work and talent.
