While NZ is definitely not a European nation, we traditionally send an invitational team of U16 and U18 orienteers to compete against their European counterparts. These athletes are not eligible to win a European Youth title, but will receive certificates should they gain a podium placing. The teams consist of four men and four women in each age grade, selected from among the best orienteers in NZ.
Two Dio students have been selected for the U16 Women’s team for 2025: Cerys Findlow and Charlotte Dalziel. Cerys represented NZ in the Southern Cross Junior Challenge in Australia last year, while this is Charlotte’s first overseas orienteering experience.
They will compete from 17 – 21 July in Brzo, Czechia.
