With over 50 entrants, 22 finalists were selected. 11 were students from Years 7-9 and 11 were from Years 10-13.
Both audience and adjudicator, Mr Mark Bennett, were blown away by the unbelievably mature and musically stylistic performances from these young musicians. Nearly every one of the of the contestants were multi-instrumentalists and choristers. They also form the core of all our ensemble programs here at Dio and they give so much back to the school by representing Dio in our Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra, Concert Band, Chamber groups, Rock bands, and singing in our choirs.
The repertoire on display was advanced and very challenging – the adjudicators commented on the sophisticated and poised performances. Congratulations to each of the participants as they were all incredibly multi-talented students.
