The first day started with a trickle of breeze from the wrong direction, building to fill the bay of Okahu from the south-west. The awesome sailing tied with a great breeze led Dio to win five out of eight races on day one.
Day two started with less wind than the first. Eventually, after the delay the determined Dio team managed to sail splendidly once again, and earned their way into the final against Westlake Girls, repeating last year’s epic showdown. Dio sailed hard in the final to grab the silver medal, with Westlake winning the best of a three-race final.
Congratulations girls! We now move our focus to the nationals.
