Central Zones Day was a fantastic event for our Year 7 and 8 students, who showcased their athleticism at the Central Zone competition held at Mt Smart Stadium.
With 25 students participating in various track and field events, the energy was high, and the enthusiasm contagious. Despite the fierce competition, our young athletes faced the challenges with immense determination. The weather was in our favor, and spirits remained high throughout the day as each participant gave it their absolute best in every event.
The attitude and sportsmanship displayed by our students were truly commendable. The support they showed for one another created an atmosphere of encouragement, making the day not just a competition but a celebration of teamwork and enjoyment of athletics. Every student represented our school with utmost dedication and sportsmanship. Regardless of the outcome, we witnessed a positive and supportive school community.
We are thrilled to share the outstanding achievements of our Year 7 and 8 athletes:
- Sina-Maria: 1st in Year 7 girls shot put and discus (breaking the Central Zones records for both events)
- Luisa Haines: 1st in 1500m and 400m year 8 girls
- Grace Larsen: 2nd in 1500m and 3rd in 800m year 8 girls
- Charlotte Waite: 2nd in Shot Put year 8 girls
- Isabelle Brunton: 1st in High Jump Year 8 girls
- Anna Yuan: 3rd in 100m Year 8 girls
