2024 Sports Awards
We recently celebrated our annual Year 11-13 Sports Awards, recognising the incredible sporting achievements of our students throughout 2024.
This year we also honoured our Year 9 and 10 athletes, and alumna Kate Haines inspired us with her powerful message about women in sport.
This was an exceptional event with a beautiful speech delivered by Sport Prefect Anäis Hamilton outlining her experiences and highlights of the sporting year. We first noticed Anäis on the hockey field at the AIMs Games. As a Year 7 student, she was like a lioness on the field, chasing hard, being there at exactly the right time. We were quite astounded at the sight of someone with such a big heart who gave it all on the field.
During Anäis’ speech, we could not help but be impressed with her journey – from Year 7 AIMs Games pocket rocket, to captain of the winning Federation Cup National Hockey team. Thank you Anäis for your leadership and example of what is possible when you put your mind to it.
We also honoured several special people at the awards. The staff award was presented to Ms Jessica Thompson who supported the hockey team at Federation Cup with the delightful background of not knowing anything about hockey!  She has been a brilliant support for netballers during the season and she has a real passion for the way in which she inspires others.
A big congratulations to the following students for their efforts across a number of sporting codes this year:
