Senior School Netball Coaches for our Years 7-13 Senior School teams :
From April to September coaches are required to attend weekly afterschool trainings, with games on weeknights or Saturday mornings (depending on the team coached). The time commitment for each team coached will amount to approximately 4 hours per week. Preference will be given to applicants with a current coaching qualification, relevant netball coaching experience and a passion for the game. Coaching workshops will be provided free to Diocesan School for Girls Coaches commencing with the Community Coaching Award Level 1 facilitated by Auckland Netball Centre. Coaches must be willing to complete this award prior to the season, which commences in May 2019.
With a large number of students playing from Years 7 – 13, Netball is a high participatory sport of choice at Diocesan School for Girls. It is our aim for students to reach maximum potential at local and regional levels as well as continuing to maintain high levels of participation in forthcoming years.
The School also provides generous support, resources and very competitive terms and conditions to encourage coaches to reach their highest professional standards. Coaches will enjoy the use of excellent facilities and become involved in the Diocesan Netball culture. Trials will commence in February 2019, and appointed coaches are welcome to attend.
Junior School Netball Coaches for our Years 0-6 After-School Netball Programme:
Our Junior School After-School Sports Programme for Yeats 0-6 (approximately 4 to 11 years of age) is very popular. We promote participation, fun, development and performance.
Teams train during the week after School (typically from 3:30 - 4:30pm) on the Junior School campus in Epsom. The teams play in competition leagues on Tuesdays or Thursdays at the St Johns, Auckland Netball Centre.
Netball trainings will ideally start in late April (based at School) but can start in early May if earlier availability is an issue. There is a break over the April School holidays and the winter season runs from early May through until the end of August. There is no play during the 3 weeks over the July School Holidays but we may offer a Holiday programme if there is interest.
We offer Junior School Netball Coach support through our "hub" programme which is run by our Head Netball Coordinator and overseen by our Junior School Sports Manager. We provide weekly training content, a Coaches manual, mentoring (if required) and full support with communication liaisons and logistics.
For all coach positions the School provides generous support, resources and very competitive terms and conditions to encourage coaches to reach their highest professional standards. Coaches will enjoy the use of excellent facilities and become involved in the Diocesan Netball culture.
