The IB Middle Years Programme

Diocesan School for Girls is a Candidate school for the Middle Years Programme (MYP), pursuing authorisation and aiming to expand to a 3-programme, IB World School.

We deliver the New Zealand Curriculum through the International Baccalaureate (IB) framework as follows:

• Dio offers the IB programme within our Junior School (via PYP or Primary Years Programme)
• Dio is seeking authorisation to run the IB programme within our Junior High School (via MYP or Middle Year Programme)
• Dio offers the IB programme within our Senior School (via the IB Diploma – which is an option offered alongside the NCEA option)

The IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) in the Junior High School is an holistic and internationally benchmarked and age appropriate curriculum framework focusing on intellectual challenge through which we teach the content of the New Zealand Curriculum.

Diocesan School for Girls is a Candidate School* for the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme. This school is pursuing authorization as an IB World School. These are schools that share a common philosophy—a commitment to high quality, challenging, international education that Diocesan School for Girls believes is important for our students.
