Well done to our athletes at the Auckland Rogaine Secondary Schools' Champs
Recently at the Auckland Rogaine Secondary Schools' Championships held at Totara Park, we had girls compete in several different age groups.
Rogaine is cross-country type orienteering, requiring athletes to visit as many control sites as they can within 90 minutes. Athletes are given the course map 15 minutes prior to start time, and within that time they are to plan the fastest route possible by checking into as many controls as possible.
Competing in everything but sunshine required determination and reliance from the girls to get through a wet and muddy course.
Overall, we had Lucy Russ finish 1st in the Senior Girls' race, Amelia McIntosh finished 2nd and Sienna Payne finished 3rd in the Intermediate Girls' Individual race.
Congratulations to everyone on a successful event!
